Ty Warrington’s triple-double sparked the Nevis boys basketball team to a 101-25 Northland Conference victory at Laporte on Tuesday, Jan. 26.
Warrington had 25 points, 11 assists and 10 steals while Eddie Kramer added 24 points and three assists. Joe Houchin (17) and Derek Lindow (16) also scored in double figures with both tallying six steals. Lindow also had six assists in his season debut.
Cain Mitchell and JP Benson grabbed eight rebounds each, Dan Aman had six rebounds, and Mitchell had six steals for the Tigers, who led 59-18 at the half.
The win lifted Nevis to 4-0 in conference play while Laporte fell to 1-1.
“We were able to put this game away early as we were able to get to the basket offensively as well as to create points off of turnovers,” said Nevis head coach Scott Kramer. “It was great to get Lindow back into the lineup after being sidelined due to hernia surgery. Our guards were really good. The guys really share the ball well and that makes it tough for defenses to find a way to slow us down.”
