Ty Warrington’s career-high 23 points and Derek Lindow’s double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds lifted the Nevis boys basketball team to a 65-51 win over Northland Remer in the season opener at the Tiger Arena on Thursday, Dec. 5.
Jack McNamee scored 10 points and joined Warrington with eight rebounds. McNamee led the way with seven steals and joined Lindow with two assists. Lindow had four steals and Cain Mitchell had three steals for the Tigers, who led 38-33 at the half.
“We got the season off to a good start with a win over Northland,” said Nevis head coach Scott Kramer. “Even though we didn’t have much offensive production in the post, our perimeter players got the job done and we were able to get some breathing room in the second half. The difference in the game was our second-half defense. We really locked in and wore them out.”
