The Osage Sportsman's Club hosted the the annual Dorothy Noeske Memorial Fishing Derby Sunday afternoon on the Straight Lake Mill Pond in Osage. This year the weather cooperated and anglers had a great time on the ice. Last year, a snowstorm forced anglers inside for a raffle and food.
The tournament is named after Dorothy Noeske, the wife of the club's long-time former president, Melvin Noeske, who still lives in the area. She passed away in 2006.
The tournament is geared toward kids. The first 100 children at the event also received a free goodie bag filled with fishing toys. A taxidermist mounts the largest pan fish caught at the tournament.
