Colby Schertler drove in four runs in leading Wadena-Deer Creek to an 11-1 five-inning Park Region Conference baseball win at Menahga on Monday, April 22.
Schertler's two-run single started a three-run first inning and two-run double capped off a three-run second inning in leading the Wolverines to the win. W-DC sealed the win by scoring four times in the fifth.
Henry Salmen walked and scored on Thomas Litzau's RBI single in the fourth to account for Menahga's lone run. Doubles by Eddie Salmen and Ivan Anderson and a single by Jack Pietila accounted for the Braves' other hits.
Corey Haataja started and took the loss, allowing seven runs on seven hits and five walks over the first four innings. Charlie Hodge gave up four runs on two hits and four walks in the fifth.
W-DC improved to 5-0 on the season.

Menahga fell to 0-5 in conference play by managing only one hit in an 8-2 loss to Parkers Prairie on Tuesday, April 23.
Parkers Prairie built a 5-0 lead by scoring once in the first, twice in the third and twice in the fifth before the Braves scored their two runs in the bottom of the fifth. The Panthers ended the scoring with one run in the sixth and two in the seventh.
Anderson took the loss for the Braves, allowing five runs over the first five innings. Eddie Salmen finished up as those two Menahga pitchers combined to give up 10 hits while striking out four.
