Nevis served 20 aces and had 25 kills with only five hitting errors in a dominating 3-0 victory over Northland at Remer on Monday, Sept. 20.
Kayli Bessler and Addison Lindow combined for 16 ace serves while four players had at least five kills in the Tigers’ 25-6, 25-3, 25-5 victory.
Four ace serves by Bessler, two ace serves by Lindow and two kills by Makenna Frazier gave Nevis a 13-1 lead in Set 1. Four kills by Lindow along with ace serves by Frazier and Marley Mitchell closed out that set.
Lindow served three aces and seven points as the Tigers jumped out to an 8-0 advantage in Set 2. Two ace serves by Bessler and a pair of kills by Mitchell extended the lead to 18-3 before a pair of kills by Ava Isaacson and an ace serve by Frazier ended that set.
After Lindow opened Set 3 with an ace for a 4-1 lead, Bessler followed with four ace serves and 11 straight service points as Nevis led 16-3. Frazier had a pair of kills during that stretch. Kills by Mitchell, Isaacson and Lindow and an ace serve by Frazier ended the match.
Bessler served 10 aces, Lindow served six aces and had seven kills, Isaacson had six kills, and Frazier joined Mitchell with five kills for the Tigers. Mya Stacey set up 16 kills while Lindow had nine digs.
Northland managed only two kills with 17 hitting errors in the match.

Tigers tame Wildcats
Nevis combined 25 ace serves with 32 kills to sweep Laporte in a Northland Conference match at the Tiger Arena on Tuesday, Sept. 21.
Bessler’s seven aces, Lindow’s six aces and Frazier’s 12 kills sparked the Tigers to a 25-10, 25-11, 25-4 victory.
Frazier’s kill and ace serve gave Nevis an 8-4 edge in Set 1 before Isaacson served four aces during 6-0 run that pushed the lead to 15-5. Bessler had a pair of kills during that stretch. Three kills by Frazier and a pair of ace serves by Bessler made it 21-7 before an ace serve by Stacey and a kill by Isaacson closed that set.
Lindow served two aces for a 4-0 lead to start Set 2 before two ace serves and a kill by Bessler along with two kills by Frazier made it 11-2. Stacey served two aces for a 15-6 lead before three kills by Isaacson, two kills by Lindow and an ace serve by Frazier ended that set.
Lindow served four aces during a 9-0 run to start Set 3 and Bessler followed with three ace serves for a 14-1 advantage. Allee Forbes served three aces and Frazier had a pair of kills to make it 24-2 before a kill by Frazier ended the match.
Bessler and Isaacson chipped in five kills each while Stacey had 21 set assists. Lindow led the way with nine digs as the Tigers improved to 3-0 in conference matches and 9-2 overall.
The Wildcats served five aces and had eight kills with 10 attack errors. The Tigers had 10 service errors, but only two hitting mistakes.
