Verndale defeats Braves

Mac Schluttner scored 15 points to lead three players in double figures as Verndale defeated the Menahga boys basketball team 59-46 in a Park Region Conference game Friday night at Verndale.

     Mitchell Blaha added 13 points, James Kveton scored 11 points and Nathan Sabinash had 12 rebounds as the Pirates improved to 3-5 in the conference and 8-8 overall.

     Austin Rudquist’s 33 points and seven rebounds led the Braves, who trailed 38-19 at the half. Austen Schwartz had four assists and Jake Kicker had five steals as Menahga fell to 4-4 in the conference and 8-9 overall.
