UNC's Hendrickson wins conference title

United North Central's Ethan Hendrickson and TJ Jasicki advanced to championship matches at the Park Region Conference wrestling tournament at Wadena on Feb. 2.

Hendrickson won the title at 106 pounds by pinning Wadena-Deer Creek's Simon Snyder in 1:39 in the quarterfinals, posting a 5-4 minor decision over Long Prairie-Grey Eagle/Browerville's Cael Lorentz in the semifinals and defeating Royalton-Upsala's Sam Costanzo 7-5 in the championship match. Hendrickson, who scored 22 points, is rated No. 2 at 106 in the latest state Class A poll. Lorentz is rated No. 4 and Costanzo is rated No. 10.

Jasicki followed a quarterfinal bye with a 12-11 minor decision over LPGEB's Carter Meiners in the semifinals of the 113-pound bracket. Ottertail Central's Laredo Bugbee defeated Jasicki 7-2 in the title match. Jasicki scored 16 points.

All 12 UNC wrestlers placed as the Warriors finished sixth with 112.50 points. LPGEB, which was rated No. 1 in the latest state Class A poll, won the conference title with 227 points. West Central Area was second with 170 points and Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale/Parkers Prairie finished third in this nine-team tournament with 164.50 points.

Also placing for the Warriors were Isaac Tellers (fourth at 120 for 11.50 points), Dylan Rasmussen (sixth at 126 for 3 points), Hank Tellers (sixth at 132 for 4 points), Ethan Trout (fifth at 138 for 7 points), Eion Ness (fourth at 145 for 10 points), Torrey Carlson (sixth at 152 for 4 points), Dakota Meech (fifth at 160 for 5 points), Gator Bettin (sixth at 170 for 4 points), Brock Kako (fourth at 195 for 10 points) and Jared Seibert (third at 285 for 16 points). Seibert is rated No. 8 at 285 in the state Class A poll.
