The Nevis volleyball team opened the Section 5A tournament with two easy wins.
Nevis, the No. 1 seed in the East B bracket, opened the tournament with a 25-16, 25-10, 25-8 win over No. 5 Walker-Hackensack-Akeley last Thursday night at the Tiger Arena and eliminated Onamia, the No. 2 seed in the East A bracket, 25-16, 25-17, 25-22 last Saturday night at Crosby.
Hannah Bliss’ 17 kills and Allison Booker’s 13 kills led the Tigers against W-H-A. Andrea Dudley served 16 points and had 31 set assists while Hannah Anderson served 14 points and had 16 digs. Jordyn Lucas added 12 digs.
In the win over Onamia, Bliss had 21 kills and Booker served 11 points and led the way with 13 digs. Dudley had 23 set assists as the Tigers improved to 20-9 on the season.
W-H-A ended the season at 11-15 while Onamia ended at 17-14.
