The Nevis baseball team used 33 hits to produce 33 runs in opening the season with three wins at home.

A 14-hit attack led the Tigers to a 14-6 Northland Conference win over Walker-Hackensack-Akeley Thursday afternoon. W-H-A scored five runs in the second inning to take a 5-2 lead before the Tigers rallied by scoring seven runs in the fourth and three runs in the fifth as this game was ended after six innings.

Luke DeWulf went 2 for 3 with a home run, three runs scored, two stolen bases and four RBI while Jack Landquist went 2 for 3 with a double, a home run and four RBI. Jack DeWulf went 2 for 4 with two runs scored and two stolen bases, Adam Thompson went 2 for 2 with three runs and three steals, and Dillon McGee and Dan Mistic both went 2 for 4.

Thompson picked up the win in relief, allowing three hits with six strikeouts in three scoreless innings. McGee pitched the final 2 ⅓ innings, allowing two hits and one run for the save.

McGee and Shep Davis combined on a three-hitter in leading the Tigers to a 7-0 win over Bagley Saturday morning. Nevis took control of a scoreless game by scoring four runs in the fourth and two runs in the fifth.

Jack DeWulf went 3 for 4 with a double, a home run, two runs and two RBI while Luke DeWulf belted a solo homer. Thompson, Landquist, Mistic and Sam Hitchcock scored the other runs while McGee, Davis and Landquist drove in a run apiece.

McGee went the first four innings, allowing three hits and three walks while striking out seven while Davis allowed two walks and struck out four over the final three innings.

The Tigers combined 11 hits with five errors to spark a 12-3 win over Isle Saturday afternoon. Nevis scored six runs in the second and three runs in the third to take control.

Thompson led the offense by going 3 for 4 with two doubles, a triple, four runs scored and two RBI. Jack DeWulf went 2 for 4 with a homer and two RBI and Tucker Roehl went 2 for 4 with a triple, three runs scored and two RBI. Mistic also had a double.

Luke DeWulf started and earned the win, giving up three hits and one run in three innings. Thompson pitched the next two innings before Roehl finished up.
