The Nevis boys basketball team rebounded from a loss to Walker-Hackensack-Akeley by defeating Sebeka.
Chris Duff scored 31 points and had 12 rebounds in leading W-H-A to a 59-54 Northland Conference win at the Tiger Arena last Friday night. Taylor Chase scored 21 points and had four rebounds and four assists while Gavin Becker added 14 points and four rebounds for the Tigers, who fell to 8-4 in conference play. W-H-A improved to 9-1 in the conference and 17-2 overall.
"This was a very well-played game by both teams," said Nevis head coach Scott Kramer. "The difference was that Duff played a great game offensively and we just didn't shoot the ball well enough to overcome it. We just weren't able to generate enough offense. You have to give them credit for their defense."
The Tigers produced enough offense Tuesday night in a 73-65 win over Sebeka as Becker (16), Taylor Chase (15), Courtland Chase (14), Jordan Dudley (10), Jake Keranen (10) and Griffin Chase (8) led a balanced scoring attack. Courtland Chase (9), Becker (9) and Keranen (8) combined for 26 rebounds while Taylor Chase (8), Griffin Chase (5) and Becker (5) combined for 18 assists.
Dudley had five steals and Taylor Chase had three steals for the Tigers, who led 32-20 at the half.

"We opened the game on a 9-0 run and really didn't look back," said Kramer, whose team improved to 13-7 on the season. "Sebeka hit a few 3s and got to the basket a few times to make the game appear closer that it was."
