Last weekend at Paynesville on Lake Koronis at the Women Anglers of Minnesota (WAM) State Tournament, Sharon Melbo, Kim Petrie and Amber Gabriel did a fantastic job of representing Park Rapids. Amber finished with the top northern of the day at 5 .5 pounds and third place in the multi-species division thanks to adding a 2.5 pound smallmouth bass and a crappie. Kim had the third place northern pike at 3.5 pounds and Sharon the third place crappie in the best ever finish for the trio.

Sharon and Kim were fishing their 20th state event while Amber fished for the seventh year. Ironically her first year fishing the state WAM event was also on Lake Koronis.

The three anglers will now shift their attention to the annual Kids Fishing Derby here on July 28 at the old City Beach area.
