Park Rapids prevailed in the third set in three matches to edge Wadena-Deer Creek 5-2 in a Mid-State Conference girls tennis dual meet at the Depot Courts on Tuesday, Sept. 7.

Morgan Koppelman (6-3, 6-4) and Shailyn Hayes (6-1, 6-1) posted straight-set wins at the No. 3 and No. 4 singles spots while Abby Morris prevailed in three sets with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 victory at No. 1 singles.

The Panthers earned the win with a pair of three-set victories in doubles. Natalie Harvey and Emily Schulz posted a 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles while Emmy Goochey and Abby Runyan rallied for a 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 3 doubles.

W-DC won the other two matches in straight sets.

Elle Ehler and Rachel Ulvin dropped an exhibition doubles match 5-7, 6-4, 10-6.

The win lifted Park Rapids to 1-1 in conference matches and 5-2 overall.
