Two forfeits and a minor decision in the final four matches gave the Park Rapids wrestling team a 42-33 win over Fosston/Bagley in the final dual meet of the regular season Thursday night at the Century School gym.
Jared Sunram's 9-7 minor decision at 113 pounds and Nolan Booge's first-period pin at 120 gave the Panthers a 9-6 lead. Sunram trailed 7-1 after the first period before rallying with a takedown and nearfall in the second period and an escape and takedown in the third period.
The Panthers expanded their lead to 27-12 with consecutive pins by Zach Nelson at 132, Ben Baumgartner at 138 and Justin Dravis at 145.
After the Brawlers used three straight pins to tie the match at 27-27, forfeit wins by John Kyllonen at 182 and Trai Schmidt at 195 gave Park Rapids a 39-27 advantage. Chris Baxter's 15-10 minor decision at heavyweight sealed the win. Baxter led 7-6 after the first period with a takedown and two reversals before a pair of takedowns provided an 11-8 lead after the second period. Two takedowns in the third period sealed the win.
The win gave the Panthers a 3-5 record against Section 8AA opponents and an 11-11 overall record in dual meets. Fosston/Bagley fell to 3-5 against section teams and 6-9 overall.

Baumgartner, Schmidt win titles
Baumgartner and Schmidt won titles as the Panthers finished seventh at Saturday's Nighthawks Invitational at Parkers Prairie.
Baumgartner used two pins and a minor decision to win the title at 138 pounds while Schmidt used two pins and two minor decisions to win the title at 220. Kyllonen added a runner-up finish at 182.
Also placing for the Panthers were Zach Nelson (fifth at 132), Jeff Dickinson (third at 170), Nathan Beck (fourth at 182), Logan Veo (sixth at 195) and Baxter (fourth at heavyweight).
Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa won the team title with 227.50 points while the Panthers (who entered only eight wrestlers) tallied 108 points in this seven-team tournament.
