Nevis swept the individual titles in a triangular cross country meet against Hawley and Hillcrest Lutheran Academy hosted by Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton on Saturday, Sept. 19.
Jade Rypkema led the field in the girls 5K race with a winning time of 19:43. Rypkema is rated as the No. 2 runner in the state Class A poll. Savannah Anderson finished 10th in 27:33 and Sarah Boettcher placed 11th in 32:46 for the Tigers.
George Bjorklund won the boys 5K race with a time of 18:49 as Nevis’ only runner in the varsity meet.
Hawley swept the team titles with 15 points as both Nevis and Hillcrest Lutheran Academy fielded incomplete teams. Hawley was rated No. 11 in the Class A girls poll.
“The kids that ran did well,” said Nevis head coach Tom Stambaugh. “Jade and George both won running very comfortably. It was about 82 (degrees) and quite warm. (They) just ran hard enough to win.”

The Tigers will compete against Park Rapids and Crosby-Ironton in a triangular meet at Fair Havens Golf Course on Thursday (Sept. 24) starting at 4 p.m.
