Running: Registration open for Firecracker Footrace

The 44th annual run/walk will be held July 4.

PARK RAPIDS — Registration is now open for the 44th annual Park Rapids Firecracker Footrace on July 4.

The 5K race or walk begins at Heartland Park at 9 a.m. and is limited to the first 850 people who register. This is a certified USATF fast course for the serious runners. Register by June 28 to guarantee getting a T shirt. The entry fee is $30 per person or $25 per person if registering a family or group of five or more in one order. A free kids fun run (ages 12 and under) will follow at approximately 10:15 a.m.

Go to to register. Online registration ends on July 2. Walk-up registrations will be accepted at Heartland Park on July 3 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and on July 4 from 6:30-8:15 a.m. Packet pickup for pre-registered runners will also be available at these times.
