BEMIDJI – Thief River Falls and Bemidji defeated the Park Rapids girls tennis team by 6-1 scores in a triangular meet at Bemidji on Thursday, Sept. 8.
Mickey Clark and Macy Goochey prevailed in a third-set tiebreaker in a 6-1, 1-6, 11-9 victory over Paige Weets and Avery Skaar at No. 1 doubles to account for the Panthers’ lone win against Thief River Falls. Emmy Goochey and Abby Runyan battled to a 20-18 loss in a second-set tiebreaker as TRF’s Stephanie Dagg and Ingrid Anderson posted a 6-2, 7-6 victory.
The Prowlers won the other five matches in straight sets.
Against Bemidji, Emmy Goochey and Ella Ehler posted a 7-5, 6-3 win over Kendal Midbow and Elena Peterson at No. 2 doubles for Park Rapids’ only win.
Park Rapids dropped three other matches in third-set tiebreakers. Morgan Nyhusmoen topped Nora Bolton 5-7, 6-1, 10-6 at No. 4 singles; Darby Neis and Maddie Jensen outlasted Morgan Koppelman and Shailyn Hayes 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, 10-6 at No. 1 doubles; and Noelle Mueller and Sam Wood prevailed 6-3, 3-6, 10-8 over Kate Dravis and Rachel Ulvin at No. 3 doubles. Bemidji won the other three singles matches in straight sets.

Bemidji, which edged TRF 4-3 in the other match, improved to 6-1 while the Panthers fell to 4-7.
