NEVIS – Addison Lindow and Ava Isaacson posted double-doubles in leading the Nevis girls basketball team to a 66-33 Northwoods Conference win over Lake of the Woods at the Tiger Arena on Tuesday, Feb. 15.
Two jumpers and three layups by Lindow, a pair of 3-pointers by Kayli Bessler, and a three-point play and a jumper by Isaacson gave the Tigers a 33-15 lead at the half.
A 23-8 run to open the second half sealed the outcome. Bessler started that run with a 3-pointer, Mya Stacey and Bessler had layups, Bessler and Isaacson scored off rebounds, Isaacson had two layups, Marley Mitchell hit two jumpers and Maggie Carrier hit a 3-pointer to give Nevis a 56-23 advantage. Stacey’s three layups capped off the scoring as the Tigers prevailed despite going 4 for 24 on 3-pointers.
Lindow’s 16 points, 13 rebounds, six assists and five steals along with Isaacson’s 11 points, 17 rebounds and five steals led the Tigers. Bessler chipped in 15 points and eight rebounds while Stacey had 10 points as Nevis’ defense forced 29 turnovers in improving to 9-4 in the conference and 13-7 overall.
Brooklyn Hasbargen scored 11 points for LOW, which fell to 1-8 in conference games and 2-16 overall.
