Football: Menahga receives a forfeit win over Red Lake

The Braves improve to 3-2 entering a section and district game against New York Mills.

MENAHGA – Red Lake had to forfeit a District Northwest South football game to Menahga on Friday, Sept. 30.

The forfeit win lifted the Braves’ record to 3-2.

In the other Week 5 District Northwest South and Section 6A games, Pine River-Backus defeated Lake Park-Audubon 30-24, New York Mills shut out Bagley 20-0, Ottertail Central lost to Pelican Rapids 40-6, Breckenridge defeated Roseau 49-16, Walker-Hackensack-Akeley edged Fosston 18-12, Underwood was shut out by Frazee 43-0 and Wadena-Deer Creek defeated Warroad 34-8.

New York Mills leads the section standings at 5-0 while OTC and PR-B sit at 4-1. Breckenridge joins Menahga at 3-2, LP-A and W-H-A are 1-4, and Underwood is 0-5.

In the district standings, W-DC is 4-1, Bagley is 1-4 and Red Lake is 0-5.

Menahga travels to New York Mills for a 7 p.m. kickoff this Friday night (Oct.7).
