NEVIS – Senior Night was a huge success as Nevis rolled to a 93-37 Northland Conference victory over Walker-Hackensack-Akeley at the Tiger Arena on Saturday, Feb. 26.
Leading the way were the senior trio of Ty Warrington (23), Eddie Kramer (20) and Cain Mitchell (17), who combined for 60 points. Warrington and Mitchell had four rebounds each with Ian Ahrendt contributing three rebounds. Warrington dished out seven assists and had four steals, Kramer and Tyler Lindow had three assists each, and Kramer and Mitchell had three steals each as the Tigers led 44-13 at the break.
The win lifted Nevis to 13-0 in the conference and 22-2 overall while W-H-A fell to 1-12 in conference play and 3-21 overall. Nevis won the first meeting between these two teams 80-46 on Jan. 25.
“This one was over early as we started with a double-digit run and never looked back,” said Nevis head coach Scott Kramer. “The seniors were the centerpiece as five seniors started for us and with a large lead, were able to get extended minutes. It was nice to see all of our seniors get extra playing time on Senior Night, as well as to see them get court time together. It was a big win for us as it gives us no less than a share of the Northland conference title.”
