NEVIS – Eddie Kramer scored 26 points and JohnPaul Benson added a career high 24 points as the Nevis boys basketball team defeated Red Lake 90-52 in a Northland Conference game at the Tiger Arena on Jan. 31.
Kramer had 22 points and Benson scored 14 points as Nevis led 49-24 at the half. Ty Warrington (17) and Cain Mitchell (11) also scored in double figures with Benson (8), Warrington (7) and Devan Lindow (6) combining for 21 rebounds. Warrington and Lindow dished out seven assists each and Kramer had five assists as the Tigers improved to 8-0 in the conference and 16-2 overall.
Josh Graves scored 20 points as Red Lake fell to 2-5 in conference games and 5-10 overall. Cass Lake-Bena also is undefeated against Northland Conference opponents at 7-0.
“We jumped out to an early lead and didn’t look back. Our defense was really good in the first half, limiting them to just 24 points,” said Nevis head coach Scott Kramer. “We have really been sharing the ball well lately as we again had four guys in double figures. It was another win in the conference as we continue to stay tied with Cass Lake for the lead in the Northland.”
