Porozinski scores 23 points as Panthers top W-H-A, snap losing skid

     Derek Porozinski’s 23 points and Jordan McCollum’s 15 points and 13 rebounds sparked the Park Rapids boys basketball team to a 71-70 win over Walker-Hackensack-Akeley Tuesday night at Walker.

     Remington Hagan added 15 points, six assists and six steals while Porozinski hauled down seven rebounds and had four steals as Park Rapids snapped a six-game losing streak to improve to 8-13 overall.

     W-H-A fell to 10-12.

Barnesville defeats Panthers

     Four players scored in double figures in leading Barnesville to a 63-53 win over the Panthers last Saturday at the Fargo Civic Center.

     Barnesville jumped out to an 11-2 lead before the Panthers rallied to claim a 32-28 lead at the half. Park Rapids held a 36-30 lead before the Trojans took the lead for good with a 12-0 run.

     Graham Sauve (14), Ben Sauve (13), Ethan Ishaug (11) and Jack Lien (10) hit double figures for the Trojans, who improved to 14-5 on the season.

     McCollum led the Panthers with 15 points, five rebounds and three assists. Porozinski had four steals for Park Rapids, which made just 2 of 15 3-point attempts.
