Four players scored in double figures and 12 players scored in the game in leading Pequot Lakes to a 79-29 Mid-State Conference boys basketball victory over Park Rapids Thursday night at the Area High School gym.
Pequot Lakes jumped out to a 14-2 lead and would lead by double digits the rest of the game.
A layup by Paul Dirks, jumpers by Dirks and Max Brown, and a 3-pointer by Dirks accounted for Park Rapids' scoring in the early going as Pequot Lakes led 22-9 with 6:17 to play in the first half.
A layup by Brown, two free throws by Kyle Goplerud and a 3-pointer by Taylor Kimball accounted for the Panthers' scoring the rest of the half as Pequot Lakes carried a 34-16 advantage into the break.
The Patriots padded their lead in the second half by outscoring Park Rapids 36-13.

Two jumpers by Brown and a pair of baskets by Mitch Long kept the Panthers within 48-28 with 8:08 to play.
Park Rapids didn't score again until Chris Goplerud hit a free throw with 2:39 remaining. By then the Patriots had built a 66-28 advantage.
Thomas Parker (13), Kurtis Moody (12), Brian Craig (11) and Michael Ward (11) scored in double figures to lead Pequot Lakes, which improved to 4-6 in conference play and 14-9 overall.
Brown (8) and Dirks (7) combined for 15 points for the Panthers, who fell to 0-10 in the conference and 0-22 overall.
The Panthers, who hosted Crookston Monday night, close out the regular season with a game at Hawley Friday night.
