Park Rapids used five winning performances to claim runner-up honors in the girls division at Friday’s Anderson-Cole Invitational track and field meet at Perham.
Abby Eystad, Abby Mueller, Paige Hill and Megan Grimes won the 4 x 100-meter relay in 54.40; Megan Olson led the field in the 800 run with a 2:28.92; Mueller took first in the 200 dash in 27.63; Tayah Otterness cleared 4 feet, 10 inches to win the high jump; and Caroline Drury took first in the pole vault by clearing 8 feet. Those winning efforts helped give the Panthers 99 points in this 11-team meet. Perham took first with 105 points.
In the boys meet, Perham compiled 155.50 points to lead the 12-team field. Park Rapids took fourth with 61 points.
Remington Hagan played a role in all three of the Panthers’ winning efforts. Hagan won the 400 dash in 53.67; joined Isaac Kosel, Jordan Yliniemi and Tristan Breitweser on the 4 x 200 relay team that took first in 1:38.10; and teamed with Tristan Breitweser, Per Jorgenson and Tyler Breitweser on the 4 x 400 relay team that led the field in 3:44.55.
Both Park Rapids teams took second in the 4 x 800 relay as Lydia Kantonen, Madison Steffel, Kennedy Carlson and Olson clocked a 10:41.00 for the girls while Tyler Breitweser, Hunter Jewison, Isaac Overmyer and Jack Christenson clocked an 8:59.00 for the boys.

Also producing runner-up finishes for the Panthers were Isaac Overmyer in the boys 800 run (2:09.75) and the girls 4 x 400 relay team of Olson, Ellery Overmyer, Kantonen and Mueller (4:21.72).
