Park Rapids girls lead way in Northern Pines Conference meet

Mariena Dearstyne earned medalist honors while Dana McDonald, Drew Hilmanowski and Jasmine Cease tied for runner-up honors in the final Northern Pines Conference meet last Tuesday.

     Mariena Dearstyne earned medalist honors while Dana McDonald, Drew Hilmanowski and Jasmine Cease tied for runner-up honors in the final Northern Pines Conference meet last Tuesday.

     Dearstyne carded a 48 while McDonald, Hilmanowski and Cease followed with 50s on the par-34 Castle Highlands Golf Course to lead the Panthers to a winning three-player score of 148.

     Nevis finished second with a 166 behind 52s by McKenzie Harris and Olivia Toft and a 62 by Josey Umthun.

 

Team scores: Park Rapids 148, Nevis 166, Blackduck 177, Northome-Kelliher 188, Red Lake 188, Cass Lake 234. Incomplete teams: Bagley/Fosston.
