Lydia Kantonen and Megan Olson finished in the top-15 spots as the Park Rapids girls cross-country team finished sixth at Thursday’s John Hermes Invitational at Fergus Falls.
Kantonen covered the 4,000-meter course in 16:29 to place 11th overall while Olson was 14th overall in 16:33 as the Panthers tallied 185 points. Rounding out the Panthers’ varsity were Kendra Coborn (50th in 18:04), Whitney Steffel (52nd in 18:07), Kinley Nordin (66th in 19:19), Abby Mueller (71st in 19:55) and Madison Steffel (83rd in 21:49).
Alexandria’s Megan Hasz led the field with a winning time of 14:26 while Sartell-St. Stephen topped the 11-team field with 70 points.
In the boys meet, Alexandria’s Aaron Runge covered the 5,000-meter course in 16:40 to lead the pack and lead Alexandria to the team title with 41 points in this 14-team meet.
Park Rapids finished 12th with 307 points. Leading the Panthers were Tyler Breitweser (42nd in 19:02), Adam Jacobi (44th in 19:03), Jack Christenson (57th in 19:26), Will Pickar (83rd in 20:56), Jacob Bridgman (95th in 21:49) and Darien Simon (97th in 23:10).
