The Park Rapids 18U fastpitch softball team took advantage of 17 errors to sweep a doubleheader from Pequot Lakes last Wednesday night.
In the first game, eight Pequot Lakes errors led Park Rapids to a 9-4 win. Park Rapids capitalized on nine errors, including six during an 11-run fifth inning, to complete the sweep with a 16-1 win in the second game.
In the opener, Pequot Lakes took a 2-0 lead in the first inning before Natalie Kinkel walked, stole second and scored on an error to make it 2-1 in the bottom of that inning.
Macky Warne reached and scored on errors and Riley Michaelson singled and scored on an error as Park Rapids led 3-2 after the second.
Pequot Lakes took a 4-3 lead in the third before a single by Lexi Hinkley-Smith, an RBI double by Tara Johanning, an RBI bunt single by Brooke Jerger and two more errors gave Park Rapids a 6-4 lead in the bottom of that inning.

Park Rapids sealed the win by scoring the final three runs in the fourth on a single by Kinkel, RBI doubles by Johanning and Jerger, and an RBI single by Warne.
Jerger went the distance, allowing one earned run on three hits and seven walks with nine strikeouts.
Michaelson went the distance in the second game by allowing two hits (including a solo home run) and five walks with three strikeouts.
Park Rapids sealed the win by sending 15 batters to the plate in the fifth inning. Kylee Pachel and Jerger had three hits and scored three runs apiece. Pachel had three RBI, Johanning had two RBI and Jerger had two RBI to lead Park Rapids' offense.
Park Rapids, which had games with Sebeka on Thursday and Bemidji on Monday canceled, improved to 3-1 on the season.
