Serving 10 aces and pounding down 27 kills led the Park Rapids volleyball team to a 25-18, 28-26, 25-17 win over Frazee Tuesday night at the Area High School gym.
Hailey Lundin served two aces during a 6-0 run and Hannah Wolff had a kill as the Panthers jumped out to a 7-0 lead in Game 1. A block by Olivia Vaadeland, two kills by Wolff and a kill by Megan Norby gave Park Rapids a 20-15 advantage. A spike by Norby, a tip by Taylor Smythe and a kill by Vaadeland closed out the game.
In Game 2, three kills by Lundin, three kills by Norby, kills by Vaadeland and Wolff, and a block by Wolff gave the Panthers a 16-13 advantage. Frazee rallied to claim a 24-23 lead before two kills by Norby closed out the game.
The Panthers jumped out to a 20-12 lead in Game 3 behind two tips by Jenny Palm, two kills by Norby, kills by Vaadeland and Lundin, and ace serves by Norby and Palm. An ace serve by Shelby Weckwerth and a kill by Wolff ended the match.
Norby led the Panthers with eight kills. Lundin served four aces and had six kills while Wolff had seven kills. Palm and Weckwerth had 12 digs each as the Panthers improved to 2-5 on the season.

Panthers sweep Patriots
The Panthers opened the Mid-State Conference season with a 25-16, 25-18, 25-16 win over Pequot Lakes last Thursday night at the Area High School gym.
An ace serve and kill by Lundin, three kills by Norby, and a kill by Wolff gave the Panthers a 20-16 lead in Game 1. Smythe served out the final four points as two kills by Vaadeland and a kill by Norby closed out the game.
Palm served an ace to give the Panthers a 5-0 lead in Game 2. Kills by Wolff, Norby and Lundin, a dig by Shannon Taylor and an ace serve by Norby pushed the lead to 13-6. A tip by Smythe and kills by Palm, Wolff and Lundin closed out the game.
Pequot Lakes held an 11-9 lead in Game 3 before Palm served seven consecutive points to give Park Rapids a 17-11 edge. Lundin's four service points helped close out the match.
Norby led the way with 11 kills while Lundin and Wolff had seven kills each. Palm served 18 points while Weckwerth had 17 digs. Palm and Smythe combined for 25 set assists.
