Panthers shut out North Stars

Cody Brumbaugh recorded his second shutout in the last four games in leading the Park Rapids-Menahga-Nevis-Walker-Hackensack-Akeley boys hockey team to a 2-0 Mid-State Conference win over Prairie Centre Tuesday night at the Ted O. Johnson Ice Arena.

Cody Brumbaugh recorded his second shutout in the last four games in leading the Park Rapids-Menahga-Nevis-Walker-Hackensack-Akeley boys hockey team to a 2-0 Mid-State Conference win over Prairie Centre Tuesday night at the Ted O. Johnson Ice Arena.

Raul Garcia and Ryan DeLaHunt set up a goal by Cody Koebernick 2:26 into the game to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead.

Frank Moren scored an insurance goal at the 7:26 mark of the third period. Noah MacPherson and Kiefer Miller assisted on that goal.

Brumbaugh finished with 29 saves as Park Rapids improved to 6-1 in the conference and 10-6-3 overall. The North Stars fell to 0-5-1 in conference play and 4-13-2 overall.
