Singles wins by Mary Kading, Julie Renner and Christina Smith and a win at No. 1 doubles by Karly Dickinson and Allie Girtz led the Park Rapids girls tennis team to its first dual-meet victory of the season Tuesday at the Depot Courts.
The Panthers opened Tuesday's quadrangular meet with a 5-2 loss to Pequot Lakes. Dickinson and Girtz won at No. 2 doubles and Lexi Burlingame and Katie Walsh won at No. 3 doubles for the Panthers.
In the second match, the Panthers won three singles matches in straight sets and used a tiebreaker victory at No. 1 doubles to defeat Long Prairie-Grey Eagle 4-3.
Park Rapids ended the day with a 5-2 loss to Crookston. Kading and Alyssa Carlson won at No. 1 doubles while Dickinson and Girtz were victorious at No. 2 doubles for the Panthers.
Park Rapids carried a 1-5 record into Thursday's triangular meet with Mid-State Conference rivals Crosby-Ironton and Detroit Lakes. The Panthers host Wadena-Deer Creek in another conference meet Tuesday.

PR takes 5th at Crookston
Dickinson and Girtz finished second at No. 2 doubles to lead the Panthers to a fifth-place finish at last Saturday's Crookston Booster Tournament.
Smith finished third at No. 2 singles and Kelsey Adolphson finished fourth at No. 4 singles as the Panthers tallied 17 points. Bemidji claimed the team title with 31 points.
Kading and Carlson won the consolation title at No. 1 doubles and Walsh and Burlingame won the consolation title at No. 3 doubles. Renner finished sixth at No. 1 singles and Klingenberg finished seventh at No. 3 singles.
