Goals by Lexi Hinkley-Smith, Jessie O’Hern and Paige Myhre rallied the Park Rapids-Menahga-Nevis-Walker-Hackensack-Akeley girls hockey team to a 4-3 win over Fargo North/South Tuesday night at the Ted O. Johnson Ice Arena.
Megan Hanson scored 2:55 into the game to give Fargo a 1-0 lead before Josey Umthun set up a slapshot by Hinkley-Smith at the 6:05 mark to tie the game.
Two quick goals by Graysen Myers and Rachel Johnson in the first 1:25 of the second period gave Fargo a 3-1 lead. Tayah Otterness set up Hinkley-Smith at the 15:24mark as the Panthers cut the gap to 3-2.
O’Hern scored on an assist from Brooke Jerger with 15:00 to play to tie the game before Myhre scored the game-winner at the 5:32 mark. Hinkley-Smith assisted on that goal.
Goalie Julia Smith made 25 saves for the Panthers, who were outshot 28-18. The win snapped a five-game losing streak as the Panthers improved to 3-6-1.
