Five pins and three forfeits led the Park Rapids wrestling team to a 51-27 win at Crookston Tuesday night.
Crookston built an early 12-6 lead as Ashton Clark's pin in 39 seconds at 113 pounds provided the Panthers' lone win in the early going. Clark is rated No. 1 at 106 pounds in this week's state Class A poll.
Three straight wins put Park Rapids on top as Kaden Safratowich's forfeit win at 126, Landen Burlingame's pin in 1:19 at 132 and Nolan Booge's pin in 5:22 over Colton Weiland at 138 provided a 24-12 advantage. Weiland entered the match rated No. 10 at that weight class.
After the Pirates tied the match at 24-24 with pins at 145 and 152, Park Rapids sealed the win on Jared Sunram's 7-3 minor decision at 160, Justin Dravis' pin in 26 seconds at 170 and Cody Dravis' pin in 24 seconds at 182. Justin Dravis is rated No. 4 at 160 and Cody Dravis is rated No. 7 at 170 in this week's state poll. Those victories gave the Panthers a 39-24 advantage.
Park Rapids ended the meet with forfeit wins by Jacob Bittmann at 220 and Logan Veo at 285.

The victory lifted the Panthers to 5-2 in dual meets while Crookston fell to 3-7. Park Rapids was rated No. 11 in this week's state poll.
