The Park Rapids baseball team offset 15 errors with 35 hits to win the consolation title at Saturday’s Park Rapids Invitational.

Hawley used a four-run fifth inning to rally for a 5-4 win in Friday’s first-round game before the Panthers rebounded to defeat Wheaton 10-4 and Menahga 12-11 Saturday to capture the consolation title.

Hawley defeated Frazee 6-0 and Nevis 9-7 to win the title.

“We had too many errors and mental mistakes and really gave away that first game to Hawley. We did better the next two games, but we have a ways to go,” said Park Rapids head coach Mark Waller. “We had 35 hits, which is awesome. I’m pleased winning two games.”
