Ellie Ulvin led the way as the Park Rapids girls swimming team opened the season by placing sixth at Monday's Detroit Lakes Pentathlon.

Ulvin finished fourth in the 50-yard butterfly in 28.59, sixth in the 50 freestyle in 27.19, seventh in the 50 backstroke in 32.22 and 14th in the 100 individual medley in 1:12.39.

Jess Kaseman had the Panthers' top time in the 50 breaststroke with a 37.83 to tie for 17th place.

Park Rapids compiled 78.50 points as the top-20 finishers scored points in this seven-team meet. Detroit Lakes won the team title with 545.50 points while Fergus Falls was a distant second with 209.50 points.
