     Park Rapids received the No. 5 seed in the north and will open the Section 8AA volleyball tournament at No. 4 Roseau Thursday night at 7.

     The Panthers will carry a 10-12 record into that match while Roseau is 22-7.

     Thursday night’s other north quarterfinal matches find No. 1 Hawley (22-5) hosting No. 8 East Grand Forks (6-17), No. 2 Thief River Falls (17-6) hosting No. 7 Crookston (8-15), and No. 3 Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton (14-9) hosting No. 6 Warroad (8-17).

     In the south, No. 1 Perham (16-11) hosts No. 8 Pelican Rapids (7-18), No. 2 Frazee (17-10) hosts No. 7 Fergus Falls (5-22), No. 3 Wadena-Deer Creek (15-14) hosts No. 6 Pequot Lakes (12-13) and No. 4 Barnesville (18-8) hosts No. 5 Breckenridge (12-10).

     The winners Thursday night play Friday night at the high seeds. The tournament continues next Tuesday with the championship match set for Nov. 1 at sites to be determined.
