A shorthanded Park Rapids volleyball team fell to 0-7 on the season with a 3-0 loss at Thief River Falls on Monday, Nov. 2.
Quinn Hunter (5), Abby Felts (4) and Chloe Tretbar (3) combined for 12 of the Panthers’ 16 kills in the 25-11, 25-16, 25-14 loss in this match between Section 8AA North teams. Riley Pike tallied 13 set assists while Felts, Abby Kirlin and Sydney Lange had three service points each with Kirlin, Lange and Kate Aukes serving aces. Pike and Keely Peterson led the defense with eight digs apiece. Felts and Peyton Sherk made their varsity debuts for the Panthers, who had 23 hitting errors.
The loss dropped the Panthers to 0-6 against section opponents. Thief River Falls improved to 3-1 in section matches and 4-4 overall.
Roseau leads the Section 8AA North standings with a 7-0 record. Following TRF are Hawley at 4-4, Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton at 3-4, East Grand Forks at 3-4, Warroad at 1-5 and Park Rapids.
In the Section 8AA South standings, Pequot Lakes leads the way at 5-0 with Perham following at 6-1. Rounding out that group are Little Falls at 3-1, Staples-Motley at 4-2, Fergus Falls at 2-4, Pierz at 2-4, Crosby-Ironton at 2-5 and Pillager at 0-5.
