Panthers card season low 340

Four golfers shot rounds in the 80s in leading the Park Rapids boys golf team to its best team score of the season Friday at Headwaters Country Club.

Ian Johnson's 82, Bailey Mueller's 83, Dustin Bethel's 87 and Nate Carlson's 88 led the Panthers to seventh place with a 340. All four shot their low round of the season in the 18-team Park Rapids Invitational.

The Park Rapids Orange team shot a 398 led by Jeff Jacobson's 97, C.J. Hess' 98, Ryan DeLaHunt's 99 and Caleb Anderson's 104.

Nevis finished ninth with a 350 as Kyle Magnuson finished sixth overall with a career best 74. Daniel Stacey's 86 and a pair of 94s by Matt Halik and A.J. Pappas rounded out the Tigers' team score.

Frank Moren shot an 82 as United North Central finished 11th with a 353. Rounding out the Warriors' team score were Lane Hillukka with an 85, Brad Johnson with an 89 and Noah Hendrickson with a 97.

Connor Lausch shot a 71 and won a sudden-death playoff to earn medalist honors in leading Fergus Falls to the team title with a 305. Nick Forsberg also shot a 71 in leading Staples-Motley to runner-up honors with a 306.

Carlson, Stewart lead way

Nate Carlson's 92 and Jamie Stewart's 93 led the Park Rapids boys golf team to a 423 at last Monday's Wolfpack Invitational at Longbow.

DeLaHunt's 106 and Anderson's 132 rounded out the team score for the Panthers, who finished 10th in this 14-team meet.

United North Central finished sixth with a 364 behind Alex Schoon's 88, Bradley Johnson's 89, Ty Meech's 92 and Lane Hillukka's 95.

Magnuson's 87, Stacey's 88, and a pair of 103s by Matt Halik and Aaron Halik led Nevis to eighth place with a 381.

Warroad won the team title with a 332 while Cass Lake-Bena's Dakotah Brunelle earned medalist honors with a 79.

Mueller, Stewart lead Panthers

Mueller's 84 and Stewart's 86 led the Panthers at last Wednesday's Detroit Lakes Invitational at Longbow.

Nate Carlson's 91, Bethel's 94 and Johnson's 97 completed the Panthers' 452 team score, which was good for 13th place.

Detroit Lakes led the 15-team field with a 382 in this meet, which used the top five scores from each team. Perham's Dan Cavanaugh earned medalist honors with a 70 at the site of this year's Section 8AA tournament.
