Individuals who will be 11 years old by Aug. 14 are invited to enroll in the Minnesota Firearm Safety course, held at the Environmental Education Building at the fairgrounds in Park Rapids.
The class will run from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on both Thursday and Friday, Aug. 15 and 16. Registration will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14 at Environmental Ed Building, at which time the books will be handed out for the course.
There is no maximum age limit for participants taking the course. Topics covered include safe firearm handling, firearm care, hunter ethics and responsibility, wildlife management, field and range testing, along with other pertinent topics.
