     Nevis celebrated homecoming by compiling 630 yards in offense in a 65-6 9-man football victory over Lake of the Woods last Friday night.

     The Tigers led 38-0 after the first quarter, 51-0 at the half and 57-0 after three quarters in a dominating effort.

     In the first quarter, Austin Becker hit Courtland Chase on an 8-yard TD pass and Gavin Becker on a 31-yard TD pass while Kiefer Miller scored on a 15-yard run, Gavin Hitchcock scored on a 9-yard run and Jordan Spenst scored on a 26-yard run. Miller ran in three conversions while Kevin Hale converted two kicks.

     Hunter Darchuk’s 50-yard TD run and Tucker Roehl’s 8-yard TD run and Hale’s kick pushed the lead to 51-0 at the half.

     Kyle Schmidt scored on a 7-yard TD run in the third quarter and Jack DeWulf concluded the scoring with an 11-yard TD run in the fourth quarter. Dillon McGee ran in that conversion.

     The Tigers rushed 50 times for 494 yards with Austin Becker (four carries for 99 yards), Roehl (13 carries for 85 yards), Hitchcock (seven carries for 83 yards) and Darchuk (four carries for 76 yards) leading the way. Austin Becker completed 6 of 11 passes for 136 yards with Spenst making two receptions for 74 yards.

     Gavin Becker led the defense with five solo tackles while Roehl intercepted three passes as the Tigers improved to 4-1 in Great Northern Conference play.

     LOW, which fell to 0-5, scored on a 65-yard run in the fourth quarter to avoid the shutout.
