Michaelson, Just lead Panthers past EGF

Park Rapids volleyball teams posts 3-0 win, improves to 19-4

After surviving a close opening set, the Park Rapids volleyball team controlled play the rest of the way in a 3-0 victory at East Grand Forks on Tuesday, Oct. 15.

Rilee Michaelson’s 22 kills and Kora Just’s four ace serves and 15 service points sparked a 30-28, 25-11, 25-16 win in this battle between Section 8AA teams.

Kayleah Breitweser chipped in nine kills, Kendra Scholz served three aces and Katelyn Weaver had 40 set assists. Defensively, Scholz had two blocks while Katie Burlingame (15), Weaver (12) and Just (10) combined for 37 digs.

Jessie Helgeland had six kills and three blocks and Kendra Emery had six kills to lead the Green Wave.

The win gave Park Rapids an 8-1 record against section opponents and a 19-4 overall record while EGF fell to 2-7 in section matches and 7-19 overall.
