Menahga will host Nevis in a Section 5A North quarterfinal girls basketball tournament game Thursday night at 7.
Menahga received the No. 4 seed with a 13-13 record while Nevis received the No. 5 seed with a 13-12 record. Menahga defeated the Tigers 78-42 in the season opener.
Thursday night’s other quarterfinal games pit No. 1 Cromwell (23-2) against either No. 8 McGregor (9-14) or No. 9 Bertha-Hewitt (3-21), No. 2 Verndale (20-5) against either No. 7 Pine River-Backus (11-14) or No. 10 Laporte (5-21), and No. 6 Walker-Hackensack-Akeley (15-10) at No. 3 Sebeka (16-9).
The North semifinals are set for Saturday night at a site to be determined. The North title game will be played on Tuesday, March 8, at 7 p.m. at a site to be determined.
Browerville/Eagle Valley (21-3) received the No. 1 seed in the South while Kimball (21-4) is the No. 2 seed.

New York Mills tops Braves
Alyssa Peterson’s 22 points and five assists led the Braves in a 77-63 Park Region Conference loss at New York Mills on Feb. 23.
Aimee Lake added 19 points and five assists while Lindsay Hendrickson had 10 points. Megan Hendrickson led the way with seven rebounds while Cierra Ahlf had a team-high four steals as Menahga ended conference play with an 8-6 record to tie Pillager for fourth place.
New York Mills improved to 7-6 in the conference and 15-9 overall.

Tigers top Swanville in finale
Four players scored in double figures as Nevis ended the regular season with a 59-49 win over Swanville last Monday night at the Tiger Arena.
Hannah Bliss had 18 points, eight rebounds and four steals while Becca Nelson added 11 points and five assists. Jordyn Lucas and Emma Bliss scored 10 points each while Madisyn Lucas hauled down eight rebounds.
