Two records fell at last Saturday's 5th annual Lakes to Pines Triathlon.
David Lewis of Nevis broke the men's record with a winning time of 1:03:59 while Marie Moeckel of Moorhead broke the women's record with a winning time of 1:18:23.
Lewis completed the 500-yard swim in 8:03, the 14.7-mile bike ride in 36:04 and the 5K run in 18:52 with 1:00 in transition time. Moeckel completed the 500-yard swim in 9:47, the bike ride in 42:36 and the 5K run in 24:09 with 1:51 in transition time.
A total of 58 individuals and relay teams competed in this year's event, which is a fundraiser for the Park Rapids Swim Boosters.
In the kids triathlon, Taden George of Park Rapids won the boys 9-under title with a time of 6:56 while Asa Bratlien of Mantorville won the boys 10-12 age division with a time of 10:47. Georgia Bratlien of Mantorville was the girls 9-under champion with a time of 8:59 while Elizabeth Pahl of Long Prairie won the girls 10-12 division with a time of 11:15.

The kids 9-under triathlon featured a 50-yard swim, a .48-mile bike ride and a .30-mile run while the 10-12 division featured a 100-yard swim, a 1.10-mile bike ride and a .30-mile run. There were 11 boys and girls who competed in the kids race.
