Halle Landstrom used a winning score of 8.80 in vault to capture the all-around title with a 32.15 as the Park Rapids-Menahga-Nevis gymnastics team was edged by Detroit Lakes' junior varsity team 122.15-120.85 Thursday night (Dec. 13) at the Area High School gym.

Erin Tooker also took first on balance beam with an 8.10 as the Panthers posted their season-high team score, topping their previous best of 120.525.

The Panthers opened this dual meet with a 31.00 in floor exercise with Landstrom's runner-up 8.55, Morgan Koppelman's 7.65, Tooker's 7.55 and Abby Kirlin's 7.25 leading the way. Detroit Lakes' Ari Leitheiser took first with an 8.65.

On balance beam, Landstrom's runner-up 7.45, Koppelman's 7.30 and Natalie Backmann's 6.45 followed Tooker's top score for a 29.30 team score.

Landstrom led the Panthers to a 27.20 on uneven parallel bars with a runner-up 7.35. Koppelman's 6.90, Tooker's 6.80 and Ally Holmer's 6.15 completed the team score. DL's Skylar Nelson was first with a 7.70.

Landstrom's top score in vault helped Park Rapids to a season-best 33.35. Tooker tied for third with an 8.30 with Koppelman's 8.15 and a pair of 8.10s by Kirlin and Brianna Nelson following.

Tooker finished third in all-around with a 30.75 in her season debut while Koppelman was fifth with a 30.00. The Panthers fell to 0-3 in dual meets this season.

Detroit Lakes received scores of 31.95 in floor, 28.95 on beam, 28.15 on bars and 33.10 in vault. Detroit Lakes' varsity team is rated No. 1 in the first state Class A poll with an average of 147.925.
