Detroit Lakes won the section title with a 308 behind a pair of 75s by Austin Rusness and Karter Schmidt. Fergus Falls took second with a 313.

Bagley's Aaron Leintz earned medalist honors with a 71. Also earning individual state berths were Warroad's Casey Anderson (72), Fergus Falls' Keaton Lausch (75), Crookston's Wyatt Hanson (76) and Roseau's Jared Strand (77).

Team scores: Detroit Lakes 308, Fergus Falls 313, Perham 315, Roseau 320, Crookston 329, Thief River Falls 336.

Johnson qualifies for section meet

Johnson claimed the final individual spot in the Section 8AA tournament by carding an 80 at last Thursday's Section 8AA North tournament at Bagley's Twin Pines Golf Course.

The Panthers carded one of their best rounds of the season with a 329, but still finished in sixth place in this eight-team tournament. Roseau won the subsection title with a 306 while Crookston (308), Thief River Falls (320), Bagley (321) and Warroad (323) followed. The top three teams advanced to the Section 8AA tournament.

Following Johnson's 80 for the Panthers were Bailey Mueller with an 82, Dustin Bethel with an 83 and Ryan DeLaHunt with an 84.

Team scores: Roseau 306, Crookston 308, Thief River Falls 320, Bagley 321, Warroad 323, Park Rapids 329, East Grand Forks 332, United North Central 340.
