Setting season highs in three events helped the Park Rapids-Nevis gymnastics team snap a 25-meet losing streak with a win over Fargo Saturday at the Moorhead Invitational.

The Panthers used season highs of 32.60 in vault, 30.70 in floor exercise and 28.20 on balance beam for a 116.75 to 111.20 victory. The 116.75 is the Panthers' highest team score since a 117.475 against Detroit Lakes in January of 2014. It also marked the Panthers' first win in a dual meet since defeating Frazee in February of 2013.

Olivia Fischer's 8.40 and Randi Nielsen's 8.25 gave the Panthers a 1-2 finish in vault. Abby Kirlin's 8.05 and Erin Tooker's 7.90 completed Park Rapids' team score in that event.

In floor, Katie Eischens' runner-up 8.05, Fischer's 7.85, Tooker's 7.50 and Kirlin's 7.30 led the Panthers.

Park Rapids also surpassed its season high on balance beam behind Nielsen's runner-up 7.35, Fischer's 7.25, Tooker's 7.05 and Kirlin's 6.55.

Fischer also took first on uneven parallel bars with a 7.00. Tooker's 6.80, Eischens' 6.15 and Kirlin's 5.30 completed the Panthers' 25.25 in that event.

In all-around, Fischer led the field with a 30.50 while Tooker followed with a 29.25. Kirlin was fifth with a 27.20 as the Panthers improved to 1-3 in dual meets this season.

Fargo had scores of 31.55 in vault, 31.00 in floor, 26.95 on beam and 21.70 on bars.

"The meet went very well. The girls improved their team score and achieved new personal-best scores. The best part of the meet was that we came out on top with even more room to improve," said Park Rapids head coach Rebecca Penning. "Our girls are earning scores worth bragging about and are working hard within our team to fill the varsity spots. We're confident this will only lead to higher scores as we continue performing. It's really exciting to see all of our hard work paying off."
