Golf: Connect for the Cause raises $8,865

Women golfers play a 12-hole scramble at Headwaters Golf Club to support Sanford cancer patients.

The 2022 Connect for the Cause raised $8,865 during a 12-hole scramble event at Headwaters Golf Club on Aug. 16. A total of 56 women golfers participated with the proceeds being used to purchase gas and lodging cards for Sanford cancer patients in the local community. Businesses that donated towards prizes and auction items were Angler Print in Hackensack, 71 Bottles, LaPasta Restaurant, Dorset Chick'n Coop, Zorbaz, Perham Lakeside Golf, Companero's, Dorset House, Tianna Country Club in Walker, Headwaters Golf Course, Unknown Legends Designs, Y Steak House, Wolff/Simon Real Estate, Clancy's, Bogey's Sports Bar and Grill, Simonson's, Kenny's Confections in Perham, and Sanford Health Foundation. Members of the 2022 Connect for the Cause committee were Bonnie Beilke, Andrea Dutcher, Barb Fischer, Sue Fisher, Julie Fladeboe, Liz Hall, Helen Keezer and Jan Tyson. The 2023 Connect for the Cause scramble is scheduled for Aug. 15, 2023, at Headwaters Golf Club.
