Girls golf team wins two conference meets

Mariena Dearstyne and Drew Hilmanowski claimed medalist honors in leading the Park Rapids girls golf team to a pair of Northern Pines Conference wins at Bears Den Friday.

     Mariena Dearstyne and Drew Hilmanowski claimed medalist honors in leading the Park Rapids girls golf team to a pair of Northern Pines Conference wins at Bears Den Friday.

     Dearstyne’s 46 led the Panthers to a three-player score of 143 in the first round while Hilmanowski’s 42 led the Panthers to a 136 in the second round.

 

Dearstyne leads Panthers to win

     In addition to Dearstyne’s 46, Dana McDoanld finished third overall with a 48 and Hilmanowski carded a 49 to lead the Panthers to the win in the first conference meet at Bears Den.

     McKenzie Harris claimed runner-up honors with a 47 while Sam Wormley’s 52 and Olivia Toft’s 53 led Nevis to runner-up honors with a 152.

 

Team scores: Park Rapids 143, Nevis 152, Blackduck 182, Red Lake 183, Northome/Kelliher 185. Incomplete teams: Bagley/Fosston, Cass Lake.

Hilmanowski leads Panthers to win

     In the second conference meet at Bears Den, Hilmanowski’s 42, Dearstyne’s 46 and 48s by McDonald and Riley Kimball led the Panthers to a 136.

     Harris’ runner-up 44, Wormley’s 50 and Toft’s 55 led Nevis to a runner-up 149.

Pequot Lakes wins at Wadena

     Pequot Lakes carded a 350 to claim the team title at Thursday’s Wadena-Deer Creek Invitational at Whitetail Run Golf Course.

     Park Rapids finished ninth out of 10 teams with a 484 behind Dana McDonald’s 108, Olivia McDonald’s 119, Jasmine Cease’s 128 and Lexi Stevenson’s 129.

     Bemidji’s Morgan Williams earned medalist honors with a 77.

 

Team scores: Pequot Lakes 350, Bemidji 354, Staples-Motley 366, Moorhead 375, Wadena-Deer Creek 382, Pelican Rapids 404, Perham 418, Crosby-Ironton 460, Park Rapids 484. United North Central incomplete.
