Six different players scored as the Park Rapids boys basketball team jumped out to a 13-2 lead en route to a 55-34 Mid-State Conference win over Wadena-Deer Creek Friday night at the Century School gym.
Layups by Rilee Johnson, Cory Gartner and Kyle Goplerud gave the Panthers a 6-0 lead with 11:29 to play in the first half before a free throw by Mason Long, two free throws by Chris Goplerud and a 3-pointer by Wyatt Derman pushed the lead to 13-2 with 6:50 to go in the first half.
A 3-pointer and two jumpers by Tyler McCollum, two free throws by Gartner and a jumper by Kyle Goplerud gave Park Rapids a 24-12 lead at the half.
A layup by Johnson, a jumper by Zach Jewison and back-to-back 3-pointers by Tyler McCollum pushed the lead to 34-14 with 11:29 to play.
Johnson scored two baskets inside and Tyler McCollum hit another 3-pointer as the Panthers led 41-21 with 8:50 remaining.

Two free throws by Kyle Goplerud, a jumper by Johnson and a layup by Gartner were followed by a basket off a rebound and two free throws by Jordan McCollum as the Panthers extended their lead to 51-27 with 3:49 to play.
Jewison scored off a rebound and Derman hit a jumper to cap off the scoring for the Panthers.
Tyler McCollum scored a game-high 18 points to lead the Panthers, who improved to 2-8 in the conference and 7-14 overall.
Dylan Dumprope scored 15 points to lead the Wolverines, who fell to 1-8 in the conference and 5-16 overall.
