Errors lift Parkers Prairie past the Menahga baseball team

The Panthers scored six unearned runs in a 7-3 Park Region Conference win.

Parkers Prairie took advantage of four errors to score six unearned runs in a 7-3 Park Region Conference win over the Menahga baseball team on Friday, May 14.

The Panthers only had six hits in scoring two runs in the first inning, three runs in the third and two runs in the sixth.

Liam Torola singled and scored on a wild pitch in the first, Eddie Salmen walked and scored on Jack Pietila’s RBI single in the third and Sam Jackola reached on an error and scored on Nolan Haataja’s sacrifice fly in the fourth to account for Menahga’s three runs.

Torola went 2 for 4 and Jackola went 1 for 4 as the Braves managed only four hits. Pietila took the loss, allowing seven runs (one earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out five in 5 ½ innings. Isaiah Usher finished up.

Menahga fell to 7-4 in the conference and 9-4 overall while the Panthers improved to 4-7 in Park Region play and 5-7 overall.
