     Mariena Dearstyne shared medalist honors and tied for fourth as the Park Rapids girls golf team carded its two lowest rounds of the season.

     Dearstyne carded a 90 to share first place as the Panthers finished fourth at last Tuesday’s Fertile-Beltrami Invitational with a 405. Dearstyne followed with a season-best 83 to tie for fourth place as the Panthers carded a 402 for sixth place at Saturday’s Staples-Motley Invitational.


Dearstyne shares medalist honors

     Maddie Nicholls and Ally Tiedemann also carded 90s in leading Crookston to the team title with a 387 at Fertile.


     Riley Kimball’s 104, Alyza Edevold’s 105 and Dana McDonald’s 106 on the par-72 course rounded out Park Rapids’ team score.

Tigers win meet at Blackduck

     McKenzie Harris’ 52, Olivia Toft’s 54 and Sam Wormley’s 61helped Nevis edge the Panthers at last Tuesday’s Northern Pines Conference meet at Blackduck.

     Nevis finished with a 167 to edge the Panthers’ runner-up 168. Dearstyne was second with a 49 while Edevold’s 57 and McDoanld’s 62 on the par-38 course completed Park Rapids’ three-player score.

Nevis leads way at NPC meets

     Nevis tied for first and finished first in two Northern Pines Conference meets at Tianna Country Club Thursday.

     In the first meet, Nevis and Park Rapids carded 167s to share first place. Harris claimed medalist honors with a 50 while Toft’s 58 and Wormley’s 59 on the par-36 course completed the Tigers’ team score. Jasmine Cease earned runner-up honors with a 52 while McDonald’s 56 and 59s by Olivia McDonald and Olivia Wallace completed the Panthers’ team score.

     In the second meet, Harris tied for second with a 53 as Nevis led the field with another 167. Toft’s 56 and Wormley’s 58 rounded out the Tigers’ team score. Park Rapids was second with a 173 behind McDonald’s 55, Talya Smith’s 58 and 60s by Wallace and Cease.

Alexandria wins meet at Staples

     Amanda Bigger’s 76 led Alexandria to the team title at Saturday’s Staples-Motley Invitational at The Vintage.

     Alexandria led the 11-team field with a 343 while Park Rapids finished sixth with a season-best 402.

     Dearstyne tied for fourth place with an 83 while Edevold’s 103 and a pair of 108s by Kimball and Drew Hilmanowski on the par-72 course completed Park Rapids’ team score.
