Kamree Carlson tallied 15 service points, 13 kills and 12 digs while Kaisa Coborn had 14 kills in powering the Park Rapids volleyball team to a 3-0 Section 8AA victory at Thief River Falls Thursday night.
Rilee Michaelson added eight kills as the Panthers finished with 42 kills with 11 hitting errors in the 25-11, 25-10, 25-22 victory. Katelyn Weaver set up 30 kills and joined Carlson with three ace serves. Park Rapids put 64 of 72 serves in play with 11 aces. Coborn and Michaelson served two aces each.
Coborn and Kora Just had seven digs each as the Panthers improved to 9-0 against section opponents and 17-5 overall. The Prowlers fell to 3-8 in section matches and 6-18 overall.
Park Rapids maintained the No. 1 seed in the South half of the section with Pequot Lakes (15-7), Perham (17-9), Crosby-Ironton (10-10), Detroit Lakes (10-11), Staples-Motley (8-14) and Fergus Falls (3-19) following. In the North half, Roseau (14-8), Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton (9-12) and Hawley (12-10) are the top teams with Thief River Falls, Crookston (10-13), Warroad (9-14), East Grand Forks (3-17) and Bagley (3-18-1) trailing.
